FLUXone BioChar
Plant for the production of biochar out of hydrochar
Biochar from biogenic residues – decentralized, efficient and low in emissions
We are currently testing a process for producing high-quality biochar from untreated organic residues such as fermentation residues, green waste and agricultural waste. The materials are first hydrothermally converted into HTC charcoal and then thermally refined at 400-450 °C. The result is a stable biochar with multiple uses. This produces a stable biochar with a wide range of uses.
Our tests to date show: The biochar improves the soil structure, serves as a carrier for fertilizers, promotes humus formation and supports composting. It can also contribute to long-term CO₂ sequestration – a valuable lever in climate protection.
Another advantage lies in the possibility of enriching the coal with nutrients during the process.
FLUXone BioChar we are developing a future-oriented solution for sustainable agriculture and the circular economy.
Process & functionality
The plant is based on a thermochemical process in which biogenic materials are converted into hydrochar. This coal is then converted into biochar in a pyrolysis reactor. The process produces usable CO₂-neutral waste heat.
Biochar is a porous, stable carbon product that is produced from plant residues such as wood, green waste or fermentation residues using controlled thermal processes. In contrast to conventional fertilizers, it contains only small amounts of nutrients – its benefits lie more in its physical and biological effect in the soil.

Optimally integrated:
The FLUXone BioChar system can be seamlessly integrated into existing operating environments – whether in industry, municipalities (municipal heat planning), agriculture or waste disposal.
The system graphic shows an example of how the hydrochar and process heat produced can be used for energy recovery, reconversion or soil improvement.
This makes FLUXone BioChar the interface between waste recycling, energy generation and CO₂ storage.

Our energy has a future.
