Energy storage with HTC carbon

blueFLUX creates energy that can be stored

Not all energy has to be used immediately. In addition to gaseous energy sources, the FLUXone system also produces solid, storable energy in the form of HTC coal.

It not only serves as a CO₂-neutral fuel, but also as an energy store that binds CO₂, can be stored long-term and converted back into energy when needed – decentralized and climate-friendly.

How does energy storage work with FLUXone?

The blueFLUX process produces HTC coal, which can be used in a variety of ways:

  • as solid fuel in pellet boilers or pulverized fuel furnaces
  • for later gasification and use as synthesis gas or hydrogen
  • for long-term CO₂ sequestration and soil improvement (carbon sink)

The coal powder can be stored, traded or thermally reused at the place of production – a clear advantage over purely volatile energy sources such as hydrogen or biogas.

Advantages at a glance

  • Solid form of energy – safe to store and transport
  • Reconversion to electricity, heat recovery or chemical recycling possible
  • Can be used as a CO₂ sink (e.g. in agriculture as a fertilizer and for building up humus)

  • Combination with hydrogen or gas storage possible
  • Contribution to grid stability, energy self-sufficiency and climate strategy

Storable energy instead of unused potential

The FLUXone system not only generates energy – it also makes it possible to store it in a targeted manner and use it at the right time. Let our experts advise you!
